According to the Japanese trade ministry, around 4.4 million households served by Tōhoku Electric Power (TEP) in northeastern Japan were left without electricity. Several nuclear and conventional power plants went offline, reducing the Tokyo Electric Power Company's (TEPCO) total capacity by 21 GW. Rolling blackouts began on 14 March due to power shortages caused by the earthquake. TEPCO, which normally provides approximately 40 GW of electricity, announced that it could only provide about 30 GW, because 40% of the electricity used in the greater Tokyo area was supplied by reactors in the Niigata and Fukushima prefectures. The reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi and Fukushima Dai-ni plants were automatically taken offline when the first earthquake occurred and sustained major damage from the earthquake and subsequent tsunami. Rolling blackouts of approximately three hours were experienced throughout April and May while TEPCO scrambled to find a temporary power solution. The blackouts affected Tokyo, Kanagawa, Eastern Shizuoka, Yamanashi, Chiba, Ibaraki, Saitama, Tochigi, and Gunma prefectures.

If they end up taking their car to a mechanic, you may have to split the bill for harmonica removal. But it'll be worth it for the shared laugh. This is the perfect April Fools' joke to use on anyone with a serious sweet tooth. All you need is a few new sponges, a container of icing, and some sprinkles. Use the sponges to create a "layer cake" and then decorate accordingly. No need to make any announcements-a hungry crew will dig in soon enough. Just be sure to stick around for when they realize they aren't getting the forkful they thought was coming! 3. Use Other Door… The more doors in your workplace, the better. Attach signs reading, "Door is broken, use other door," to every entrance and exit in the office, with arrows pointing in every possible direction. This April Fools' joke will have your confused coworkers walking in circles, trying to find any way to escape.

Here, we systematically reviewed 4432 articles that address SVRA in various disciplinary fields (e.g. psychology, sociology, geography, mathematics) for various hazards, including floods, droughts, landslides, storm surges, wildfires, tsunamis, earthquakes, and volcano eruptions. We focus on the extent to which these studies explicate the frameworks, theoretical constructs or theories they rely on. Surprisingly, we found that about 90% of the reviewed studies do not explicitly refer to a theoretical underpinning. Overall, theories focusing on individuals’ SVRA were more frequently used than those focusing on systems, society, groups, and networks. Moreover, the uptake of theories varied according to the hazard investigated and field of knowledge, being more frequent in wildfire and flood studies and articles published in social science journals. Based on our analysis, we propose a reflexive handling of theories to foster more transparent, comparable, and robust empirical research on SVRA. The devastating impact of flooding is gradually increasing worldwide including riverine islands of Bangladesh due to climate change issue.
