Then I checked - sure enough those cheeky bastards had archived the order too. I immediately changed my password and called Amazon.. I still haven't heard from their security team HOW the breach happened (If they got into my amazon account by password, or did a "one time login" through my email.) The spam made it through our spam filter because the way this spam bomb was conducted, they use bots to go out to "legitimate" websites and sign your email up for subscription etc. So then I'd get an email from a random russian travel site, and our filters let it through. Either way - we got the order cancelled before it shipped, and my email is back to normal - albeit different passwords. And I honestly thought about shipping a box of dog crap to that address (probably a vacant house) but I decided against mailing bio-hazardous waste. Either way - if you see something suspicious - investigate! Edit: Thanks for all the great input everyone. Just finished putting 2FA on every account that allows it. Hopefully keep this from happening again!

They can help employees recognize the signs of a phishing email and take appropriate action to avoid falling for a real phishing attack. It is important to note that phishing awareness campaigns should be conducted with care and sensitivity to avoid causing undue stress or anxiety among employees. Employees should be informed in advance that the simulation is taking place and should be provided with support and resources to help them improve their awareness and response to phishing attacks. What is phishing test email for employees? A phishing test email is a simulated email designed to test employees’ ability to recognize and respond to a phishing attack. These test emails are typically sent out by an organization’s IT or security team to all or a selected group of employees. Phishing test emails are designed to look like real phishing emails, with similar content and design. The email may include a link to a fake login page or an attachment that, if downloaded, could install malware on the employee’s computer.

Scam promoters are luring people to improperly claim the ERC with "offers" online, in social media, on the radio, or through unsolicited phone calls, emails and even mailings that look like official government letters but have fake agency names and usually urge immediate action. These unscrupulous promoters make false claims about their company's legitimacy and often don't discuss some key eligibility factors, limitations and income tax implications that affect an employer's tax return. It's important to watch for warning signs such as promoters who say they can quickly determine someone's eligibility without details, and those who charge up-front fees or a fee based on a percentage of the ERC claimed. Anyone who improperly claims the ERC must pay it back, possibly with penalties and interest. Eligible employers who need help claiming the ERC should work with a trusted tax professional. False ERC claims were so widespread this year that the IRS added them to its annual Dirty Dozen list of tax scams.

You’ll follow a similar process for other email clients. If you’re using Outlook, for instance, you’ll select the email in your inbox and then scroll to select the Junk drop-down arrow. Each email client has its own process for reporting spam, but they’re all pretty similar. Almost all email clients come with built-in spam filters, so most of the work is done for you when it comes to filtering out the really scammy emails. No Nigerian prince money schemes with those things! But not all spam is worth deleting - there are different levels. You may have unsolicited newsletters, invites or PR emails that you want to keep but don’t want to bog down your inbox. To keep your main inbox clear of these types of emails, you can create filters to compartmentalize spam emails you may value later on. This is pretty simple to do, and you can sort it by email address, keywords, domain or other factors.
